Connector selection is extremely important to insure proper operation and reliability. This connector is a TNC jack female for RG8 and 400-Series cable. Connectors can be a bit confusing regarding the gender. There are also Reverse Polarity (RP) TNC connectors. RP-TNC is common with many wireless products. The RP-TNC plug is a male connector. It has threads inside and the pin does not protrude from inside the connector. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the female, however it is the male. We generally prefer the term, plug, in order to avoid this confusion.
