Product Description – Model USB-ADG-2

The AIR802 USB-ADG-2 (previous version was USB-ADG-1) is a USB wireless adapter fully compliant with the 802.11b/g WiFi standards. Our adapter is packaged with a 5dBi gain dipole antenna and CD for installation. It incorporates the ZyDAS (Atheros) chipset and ZyDAS software wizard. The software quickly and easily installs onto any computer. After the drivers are installed, plug the adapter into the USB port, connect to the network and enjoy the newfound freedom of strong signals. A CD is included with drivers for Windows, MAC and Linux plus our Installation Manual.  

This adapter supports 802.11b (11 Mbps) and 802.g (54 Mbps) connectivity which provides blazing fast networking. Of course, most broadband network connections, DSL or cable modems are restricted to less than 6 Mbps. Therefore you are restricted to the speed of your broadband connection if accessing the Internet.

The adapter has an external antenna connector. Alternatively, one of the great values of this product is the ability to plug in other antenna types, locally or remote to the USB adapter. This creates the potential for many applications. For example, suppose that you have a building 1000 feet away from the building that you are located in that you would like to share your Internet connection. You could run a coaxial cable from the USB adapter to an AIR802 Yagi antenna located outside your building pointed towards the other building with a similar setup. Or purchase to simply improve upon your internal computers weak wireless signal. Generally the use of this adapter will double or more the signal strength at your computer versus an internal card or USB adapters without an antenna. There are many other possible uses of this adapter.

The AIR802 USB-ADG-2 is revolutionary with the external detachable antenna. It can allow communications from computer to access point or wireless router (Infrastructure mode) or computer to computer networks (Ad hoc mode). It supports all the latest security technologies.

Our USB-ADG-2 also supports Nintendo DS. We offer 3 and 6 feet USB cable extensions which allows the USB adapter to reside outside of the USB port. This is beneficial particularly if you are using a mobile laptop or have a large coaxial antenna cable connected to the USB adapter so that it doesn't place pressure on the USB adapter when in the USB port.
