N-Female to Reverse Polarity SMA (RP-SMA) Plug Adapter

Poorly constructed adapters and/or connectors will cause higher VSWR and insertion loss resulting in electrical noise and intermittent issues. In choosing adapters and/or connectors, it is important to match one to the type of cable being used, the impedance (50 versus 75 ohms), the frequency support, insertion loss, voltage rating and environmental specifications. Adapters are very useful for matching different connector types.  

This is a N-Female to Reverse Polarity (RP-SMA) Plug adapter. N type connectors are common in outdoor antennas and wireless equipment. N-female connectors are considered jacks.  N-female is also considered a jack. RP-SMA Plug is a male. Male and female are confusing to the novice as they are not intuitive. We prefer the terminology plug / jack. The RP-SMA Plug has threads on the inside and the center pin is inside the connector and does not protrude.
