This unique antenna is part of our Adaptive Series line of indoor antennas. It comes assembled as a 4.8 dBi High Gain directional antenna, meaning it projects the maximum radio frequency (RF) energy towards a specific direction resulting in better range, less interference and providing overall improved signal strength in the direction needed. Alternatively, this antenna easily and simply can be adapted to a 1.5 dBi gain Omnidirectional antenna by simply unsnapping the reflector panel. Omnidirectional antennas provide 360° coverage. Typical wireless routers ship with a 2dBi Omnidirectional antenna. Therefore, this antenna will serve most effectively as a High Gain directional antenna. This antenna does not mount directly into the wireless antenna connector in the back of a wireless router, but rather has a 100cm (39.37”) cable allowing the antenna to be placed on a desk, on a computer or even on metal surfaces with its magnetic mount. This allows the advantage of flexibility in positioning the antenna.
This Adaptive Series antenna is designed for the 2.4GHz ISM band (WiFi / 802.11b/g), Bluetooth or even RFID applications.
This antenna comes with a RP-SMA Plug (male) type connector, which represents perhaps as high as 70% of the wireless router products on the market. It also works with the AIR802 USB-ADG-1 wireless USB adapter and the AIR802 AP-G200 high power router / access point. It also can rotate 180 degrees and can be adjusted at angles through an adjustable knuckle with 45°, 90° or 180° positions.
